Magnolia Shorty, an R&B singer with Cash Money Records, is reportedly dead at the scene in a double homicide in New Orleans. A DJ on a local radio station, Q93 FM has said that Shorty was killed today, but so far the police have not released any details on the victims. According to NOLA.com, an as-yet unidentified man and woman were found shot to death in a car that had struck an apartment complex’s gate on the 6300 block of Bridgehampton Drive around noon today.
Magnolia Shorty, real name Renetta Lowe, has been producing R&B since her first album in 1995. Her most well-known song is “Smoking Gun” which came out last year. This year a song titled “My Boy” has been doing well for her also.
Magnolia Shorty has said that her music is influenced by Michael Jackson and Beyonce, and that she can’t ever turn Keith Sweat off.
